The Reality of Thanksgiving

Posted byThe reality of Thanksgiving is often visualized as something similar to this …
That’s what the TV and internet ads wish us to believe anyway. While there are Many fortunate families still capable of providing these large EXPENSIVE feasts for their families and friends the reality is that there are even MORE families who don’t have a hope to be able to afford anything like this. Do you know that the average classic turkey dinner for 10 is estimated to cost $49.20 on average. That is $5.73 more than last year’s $43.47 average.
Another reality of Thanksgiving is something along the lines of …

I KNOW, personally, that this is not always what happens either. There are many MANY people lonely and sad on family holidays such as these.
I’m going to share a little bit of my personal story with you today, as both of these things I’ve mentioned are things I’ve lived through. At the end of my story, I’ll tell you how I rose above, and made a new life for myself!
Once upon a time, almost 14 years ago now, I was a newly single mom and was barely surviving from payday to payday. In fact, I wasn’t surviving. My mom helped out once in a while with grocery money, but I could not rely on her all the time, that just wasn’t fair to her. After she passed away in 2002 I was quite destitute once again financially, as well as spiritually and even mentally and physically. Losing one’s mother is one of the hardest things one can go through, in my experience anyway.
After years of just getting by, in EVERY aspect, I finally realized, or learned that I was where I was because of ME. My choices and my mindset.
My point, that I’m eventually getting to
, is this … we all have choices that we can make! My choices over this last year have me giving Huge Thanks in every way possible this Thanksgiving!! Although I may not have a table full of family to feed, I have met the most amazing friends that I now every day call family. And that payday to payday “ice burg” is melting away inch by inch with the extra income I’m now making with the business I decided to start.
A year ago I didn’t believe in myself … my mindset was horrible. Now, it is strong and growing every day into the mindset of a successful entrepreneurial Rockstar!!
If I can sit here and be Thankful on this special Thanksgiving day about the choices I have made over the last year, then I KNOW you can be too!! Maybe this Thanksgiving is still rough, but I KNOW that if you simply DECIDE, then NEXT Thanksgiving can be an entirely different story!
Believe in yourself because nobody will ever give you what you need to succeed, a right mindset, more than you.
With that being said, go enjoy a piece of pumpkin pie on this amazingly special holiday, and be kind to yourself.
To your deserved happiness and SUCCESS!
