How to Succeed with Online Marketing in 2017

Hello my wonderful friends of the internet today we’re going to talk about what trumps, sorry (currently I’m not a particular fan of that word), everything in marketing! And yes, I mean absolutely everything. My friends, if you want to market your product or service or goods or program or store or anything…if you want to sell stuff using online methods like social media and online marketing tools available today, this one thing outmaneuvers everything!

What you need to do in order to truly succeed with online marketing, whether that be using social media, whether that be using whatever amazing things there are online for us to use to sell our products and our services. All of these tools and resources are great but if you don’t sincerely genuinely authentically show PASSION, show ENTHUSIASM, show VULNERABILITY for the process or the product or what the product or service does for you in your life or how it has changed the lives of your clients or customers; if that level of transparency isn’t obvious than I am sorry to tell you, your road is a lot longer than most people.

See the thing is, marketing in 2017 and moving forward is going to be more and more and more about telling the story, about being vulnerable, about showing what it’s doing for you in your life or that of your client or customer. Billboard saying buy my stuff because it’s awesome, buy my stuff because I said so, buy my product because…just because it just doesn’t work like that anymore. My friends of the internet if you want to see actual results you need to put yourself out there in a way that is truly authentic, truly passionate, truly enthusiastic and truly vulnerable.

I was talking on my Snapchat story just the other day about a real disappointment I had recently. It was my first speaking engagement of the year and I was so excited! I was so ready for it, I prepped for hours and hours and hours, it was in this in a city over an hour away as well. This is a big deal! Well, one person showed up. Needless to say I was disappointed. What made it all worthwhile was in my private messages on Snapchat after I had shared this story; one of them said and I quote “Howard Schultz, Starbucks owner, was turned down 242 times before someone invested. I love that you document when things don’t go as expected, this is important for people to see.” That message all by itself was worth everything, was worth all the effort. Did I make a sale? No. Did I impact that one person who attended? I may have, as of the moment of writing this blog post I don’t know. BUT by me putting myself out there, sharing my everything that day, I impacted my Snapchat family, I impacted my Instagram live family and now hopefully I am impacting my YouTube family and those that are seeing it on Facebook and on the internet.

So my message today is, over and above everything, if you want to market successfully, be passionate, enthusiastic and vulnerable. You cannot go wrong with that!

How to Make Money with Direct Sales

For more than 20 years I’ve been trying to learn the skills needed to make money with direct sales and network marketing. It feels like it’s been a very  long uphill battle for most of those years. The HONEST truth is that a LOT of my struggles could have been alleviated if I weren’t so strong willed in thinking that I WOULDN’T SUCCEED! Yup, for the most part I’VE been the problem…not the company, the products or the compensation plan. Now, obviously that’s a whole other story (and likely many blog posts) but, what I’ve learned over the years has brought me to where I am now, and I’m grateful.

 

Now that I AM making money with direct sales (and, just to be legit, here is our financial disclosure) I thought I’d share with you what I’ve learned.

 

 

Being completely open about this…I do still struggle with myself, my confidence, my lack of belief…these are all symptoms of my brain, and who I am. I am overcoming, but it’s a daily process. I WILL succeed, however, I WILL get to the top of this compensation plan and lead a team of incredibly successful distributors along side of me and I will LOVE every moment of it! It’s amazing to me how things can change on a dime, as they have been doing almost daily since I joined as a distributor for this company back in December 2014.

 

If you are looking for a way to make more money in your life, perhaps you need a retirement plan, an “exit strategy”, or you just want something NEW and EXCITING in your life…I challenge you to look at what we offer as a team, a company, a compensation plan and a lifestyle. From my observations you truly CAN have it all! Sign me up for that! Oh wait, I already am!!

Network Marketing Success Tip: Learn how to Listen

If you are like me you have TRIED network marketing, more than once. I’ve tried it so many times I thought I would never find success with it…until now that is. Today’s blog is about a network marketing success tip that I didn’t really pay attention to, again, until now. Today’s tip is: Learn how to Listen.

 

I made a video on exactly what I mean when I say, learn how to listen. There are MILLIONS of people on the internet and social media screaming their solutions to you, but is it truly something you want to hear? I have learned that listening FIRST, like in any good relationship, has given me MUCH greater results with my network marketing business than ever before.

 

 

Here are some other network marketing success tips [from Entrepreuneur.com – paraphrased]:

“Choose wisely. There are six key elements you should be looking for [when selecting an opportunity]:

  1. Number one: stability.
  2. Number two is excellent products or services that consumers will use and need more of.
  3. Number three is the pay plan–how even and fair and generous overall is the distribution?
  4. Number four is the integrity of the company and the management.
  5. Number five is momentum and timing. Look at where the company’s at, what’s going on with the company, and if it’s growing.
  6. Number six is support, training and business systems.”

 

I personally LOVE the network marketing industry; I am a lifer and will never give up on my goals of working this industry full-time. It is not always easy, but it is ALWAYS worth the effort!

The Ripple Effect | Best Tactics for Long-Term Effects in your Marketing Strategies

After spending the morning with politicians and a gaggle of local business folks, I walked away with a great lesson that I’d like to share with you today. Here is my take on the ripple effect and that translates into the best tactics for long-term effectiveness in your marketing efforts.

Can you envision it with me? See the pond, there it is, all lovely and serene just WAITING for some type of disruption! :) Here YOU come with your mighty boulder! You are magically hovering over the pond in order to PLOP that thing smack dab in the centre of it! It makes and ENORMOUS splash with a HUGE ripple effect! You haven’t ever even SEEN ripples that big! You are excited and anticipatory as you KNOW those ripples will reach many people and cover them with your awesome message … once.

See, that’s the effectiveness of a boulder in a pond…it’s HUGE, but it’s short-term. One mighty SPLOOSH and it’s done.

Now let’s envision those pebbles … one by one, day after day, pebbles being dropped into that beautiful little pond, making a TINY little plop and some ripple effect…but tiny is not necessarily ineffective. Each method has it’s own merit, so simply decide when are where you want to use boulders instead of pebbles!
