How to Make Money with Direct Sales

For more than 20 years I’ve been trying to learn the skills needed to make money with direct sales and network marketing. It feels like it’s been a very  long uphill battle for most of those years. The HONEST truth is that a LOT of my struggles could have been alleviated if I weren’t so strong willed in thinking that I WOULDN’T SUCCEED! Yup, for the most part I’VE been the problem…not the company, the products or the compensation plan. Now, obviously that’s a whole other story (and likely many blog posts) but, what I’ve learned over the years has brought me to where I am now, and I’m grateful.

 

Now that I AM making money with direct sales (and, just to be legit, here is our financial disclosure) I thought I’d share with you what I’ve learned.

 

 

Being completely open about this…I do still struggle with myself, my confidence, my lack of belief…these are all symptoms of my brain, and who I am. I am overcoming, but it’s a daily process. I WILL succeed, however, I WILL get to the top of this compensation plan and lead a team of incredibly successful distributors along side of me and I will LOVE every moment of it! It’s amazing to me how things can change on a dime, as they have been doing almost daily since I joined as a distributor for this company back in December 2014.

 

If you are looking for a way to make more money in your life, perhaps you need a retirement plan, an “exit strategy”, or you just want something NEW and EXCITING in your life…I challenge you to look at what we offer as a team, a company, a compensation plan and a lifestyle. From my observations you truly CAN have it all! Sign me up for that! Oh wait, I already am!!

Network Marketing Success Tip: Learn how to Listen

If you are like me you have TRIED network marketing, more than once. I’ve tried it so many times I thought I would never find success with it…until now that is. Today’s blog is about a network marketing success tip that I didn’t really pay attention to, again, until now. Today’s tip is: Learn how to Listen.

 

I made a video on exactly what I mean when I say, learn how to listen. There are MILLIONS of people on the internet and social media screaming their solutions to you, but is it truly something you want to hear? I have learned that listening FIRST, like in any good relationship, has given me MUCH greater results with my network marketing business than ever before.

 

 

Here are some other network marketing success tips [from Entrepreuneur.com – paraphrased]:

“Choose wisely. There are six key elements you should be looking for [when selecting an opportunity]:

  1. Number one: stability.
  2. Number two is excellent products or services that consumers will use and need more of.
  3. Number three is the pay plan–how even and fair and generous overall is the distribution?
  4. Number four is the integrity of the company and the management.
  5. Number five is momentum and timing. Look at where the company’s at, what’s going on with the company, and if it’s growing.
  6. Number six is support, training and business systems.”

 

I personally LOVE the network marketing industry; I am a lifer and will never give up on my goals of working this industry full-time. It is not always easy, but it is ALWAYS worth the effort!

What I Never Knew I Always Knew

Here’s a story for you … I have wanted to be a network marketing superhero for OVER 20 years, but it hasn’t been until these last 3 weeks that I realized What I Never Knew I Always Knew. I was introduced to direct sales / network marketing back in 1992 and have been on and off; in and out ever since. Yup, that’s 23 years!! I just never stopped believing that the success I was seeking through this industry would happen one day for ME!

I’m NOT going to list ALL of the companies that I have been with, because that would be just downright embarrassing…however, I always knew, ALWAYS, that THIS was for me. This industry, this world…this way of helping others help themselves.

Let me emphasize, I am NOT YET a network marketing superhero like many MANY others, but I am FINALLY understanding what it takes, and really, how to become that person that I’ve always dreamed about! It is really not as difficult as you might think! What it does take is truly just a few key ingredients, and THESE are what I never knew I always knew.

It starts with CONFIDENCE in self. Without confidence, you may as well wait till you’ve chosen to be a confident person (yes, you read that right, confidence is a choice!) I posted this on Facebook not that long ago…”Confidence is something I have struggled with and had lack of my entire life up until I realized, just like pretty much everything in this life, it is a CHOICE. Confidence is like a currency. The more you have the more people you can help! The less you have, the less you have to give to others.”

After confidence comes hard work. Again, not brain surgery, just good old hard work, pick up the phone and make a call kind of work. It’s not challenging, it just takes effort. I guess that’s what I mean by hard, you need to NOT be lazy…there’s a significant difference there that JUST came to me as I wrote that out. Yup, it’s true, lazy will NOT make you a network marketing superhero!

Last key ingredient is PASSIONATELY LOVING the product, service and company you represent. Without that ingredient your souffle will flop

…it just won’t work. Trust me on this one. After ALL the companies I’ve been with and “faked it” I know of what I speak!

Chances are high that you ALREADY know what you need to know, you just maybe haven’t mixed it up together in a way that makes sense for you yet. If you want it bad enough, you’ll find a way!
