You Wouldn’t be Human if You Didn’t Fail

You Wouldn’t be Human if You Didn’t Fail!  Seriously, who DOESN’T fail at some point in their life?!

“Failure is always the biggest piece of the Success puzzle”.   Tell me THESE people weren’t successful!!  :)

I made a little video today on my thought about failure!

“If you rely on circumstances to create your success, you’re waiting for the luck lottery. The ability to fail well is crucial. If you never fail, it is because you’ve never taken any chances. Creative and entrepreneurial people fail all the time, but they focus on their successes. They fail earlier than others, and they fail better.

Failure is all part of the growth process. You learn your biggest lessons from the failures. As long as you are willing to step out and take it on, failures are just a stepping stone towards your success.”

I feel really bad, I don’t know where I got the above paragraphs from, but they are definitely not my own.

So all in all, be INSPIRED by your failures!! It means you are learning, growing and changing for the better! You’re becoming the person you were put on this earth to be, to fulfill that special destiny that is yours and yours alone!!

Knowing When to Make a Change

It’s not always easy you know knowing when to make a  change. Even if you feel it way down deep in your gut that it is time to, or you need to, make a change, it is still something that is almost always either far or WAY far out of your comfort zone!

Change, knowing when to and then how to deal with it; always a pertinent topic as seriously, who isn’t dealing with SOME sort of change in their lives at any given point.  There are job changes, relationship changes, address changes, financial changes, changes because of people passing away … those are just the basic types of changes.  Often we have no control over change either, so then what?  How do you manage?  How do you cope?

Here is my latest video; my thoughts on how to deal with change.  Now, I know I come back to a fairly common theme at the end of this video, but hey, I do so to make a point … what I talk about are not my theories, but those of tried tested and true personal development and thought leaders of our generation and generations before us, providing philosophical guarantees if we approach them properly!

I realize I didn’t talk that much in the video about knowing when to make a change; however, I truly feel that that is such a personal and individual thing, I’m not about to sit here and write that you should change your relationship “here” or quit your job “there”.  Your GUT, your instincts and your better judgement I believe will tell you everything you need to know about the timing that is right for you!

In the end I encourage you to stay strong, resilient and embrace the change that is upon you or most certainly coming your way!

Having Confidence

Having Confidence … not always as easy as it seems!  Wikipedia defines it as “Confidence is generally described as a state of being certain that a chosen course of action is the best or most effective”.

How confident are you REALLY? I mean, stick to your guns, no matter what, never second guess yourself, 100% ON confident! I’m the first to admit, I struggle with confidence in some areas of my life. These are areas where I spend the most time in reading, prayer, connecting with colleagues (who are in life where I aspired to be) and meditation.

It has been my experience over the last couple of years of doing what I do, that social media has caused people to either lose their confidence in themselves due to the overwhelming amount of competition out there, OR to FAKE it so bad that it’s beyond believable (really … NO ONE will believe you!).  Not cool either!  We need to be our authentic selves at all times, no matter what.  Competition is a moot point anyway; you are FABULOUS, you just need to believe that you are fabulous!

Here’s a video I  made about confidence.  I’ve also included a couple of key ideas as tools to help you grow towards having more confidence!

A confident person goes a lot further in all areas of life than someone who is not. This, I have learned the long and difficult way. I want to encourage you to BUILD your confidence, even if it feels unnatural at first. You HAVE greatness within you whether it is for being the greatest soccer mom on your block, a kick ass doctor, a top earning top producing marketer, or whatever your chosen life path!

Learn how to rock confidence and your world will never be the same!!

Meditation that Works

I was challenged by my good friend Kellie this week to try meditation that works, instead of the inconsistent and infrequent variety (like I HAVE been doing).  While I have practiced meditation every so often, I’m not consistent with it … like, AT ALL.  :(  She suggested I mediate for 30 minutes … just to start with, and increase my time and frequency from there.  I said “KELLIE, 30  minutes?!” … that seems like an awfully long time to me!  She explained to me that the 10 minutes I HAD been doing was really not enough time for it to be really effective.  Now, truthfully any time meditating is more effective than not meditating at all, but still, if you’re going to do something, you may as well do it properly; have it be effective, right?!

So, here’s what happened … I’m going to be REALLY honest with you now … this is what happened in my first session of 30 minute meditation:

Yup, that’s right … I FELL ASLEEP!!  (ugh, oh Lorri … )

Now, OF COURSE sleeping is NOT meditating, and I will keep practicing until I can do 30 minutes without sleeping as there are really just SO many benefits to meditation!

Here is something from Huffington Post that I found on meditation:

“Studies show that meditation is associated with improvement in a variety of psychological areas, including stress, anxiety, addiction, depression, eating disorders and cognitive function, among others. There’s also research to suggest that meditation can reduce blood pressure, pain response, stress hormone levels and even cellular health.”

So, as you can see, it will be very worth my while to practice this until I’m able to not only NOT fall asleep, but to make it a habit, a really great meditation habit.

Here is something else I found online that you may want to give a try, it’s a FREE 10 minute meditation soundtrack that is really awesome!

Do you  meditate?  Have you had to overcome that sleeping issue?  I’d love to hear your stories in the comment section!

Millionaire Mind Intensive | Lessons 1 & 2

It’s sometimes hard to describe how AWESOME something is, unless you are there to experience it for yourself.  Last weekend I attended a weekend seminar called the Millionaire Mind Intensive, which is a part of a T. Harv Eker series of courses.

I’m not going to spoil the surprise for you of the types of exercises and activities we conducted there, but let me just tell you, you’re going to WANT to experience this!  I broke out of my comfort zone in ways I never thought was even possible!  I did things to break through my fear of … sheesh, EVERYTHING, that I’m still smiling at total amazement at!!  :D

I’ve made a couple of videos that I’d like to share with you describing some of the lessons I learned there.  Everything about that weekend was truly excellent!  If you are looking for growth in your life in ANY area I would HIGHLY recommend this series of courses and camps!

Here’s lesson #1: “how you do anything is how you do everything”

Lesson #2: “we teach what we need”

Both of these lessons are ones that I’ve likely heard before. You know how it goes though, we don’t REALLY hear until we’re ready to listen.

What causes you to REALLY listen? It often comes … when you’re least expecting it!  Are you struggling?  Or maybe you need a real change?  I would HIGHLY recommend Millionaire Mind Intensive.  You can find more information on it here.
